CLIMATE ART EVENT- CORNELL ART MUSEUM, DELRAY BEACH, Fl

Art gallery room with wooden ship sculptures and textured wall art.

Ron Garrett created an educational and historic exhibition including his original prints, sculptures and paintings combined with recycled materials and everyday found objects during RISE - a climate art event in October 2019. This exhibition highlights the ocean tides’ influence and effects through processes of change and corrosion to man-made objects. The focus is on the poetry of the forces of nature, decay as well as the corrosive power of saltwater on human endeavors.

“When the earth and wind and seas conspire-

and all our deeds are lost to funeral pyres-

Seas will rise and seas will fall

and who are we to think we rule it all?”

As stewards of this world we are meant to keep-

from highest mountain to forgotten deep-

the memories that lay rusting out of sight

down at the bottom of sleepless nights” Garrett 2019
